We use the World Wide proven MTL XC7 direct drive system from our skid steer cutter model, this new unit is now available for mini excavators. The Xtreme direct drive system with a large ¾” Plate flywheel and AR400 AXE style blades keeps the unit cutting even in difficult conditions.

***Common Questions***
What is the advantage / disadvantage to 3 or 4 blades ?
The most common misconception in the industry is the more blades, the better- Not always correct. The single largest problem with any hydraulic cutter is being able to maintain cutting speed / RPM. If you take For Example 3- blades spinning at 750 rpm this is approx 2250 impacts per minute on the blades, this is also 2250 times per minute that there is an attempt to slow the rpm's (revolution per minute) of the cutter - a 4 blade would be 3000 impacts per minute, and 3000 times per minute at an attempt to slow the rpm's.  We have found that the 3 blade is the best of both worlds, it offers a very good cut on pasture land grass while maintaining the performance in the larger diameter trees and brush. If your machine is toward the upper limit of the Flow chart, then the 4 blade may be a very good option for you.

Does the unit come with the couplers needed to plug into my machine ? -
Yes the unit is ready to go when it arrives - you will need nothing to start operating the unit.

Does the unit really take down 5" diameter trees? -
Yes, infact our customers once they have got familiar with the cutters & cutting larger diameter trees- with a max diameter rating of 5”.

What is the advantage of the AXE STYLE BLADES ? 
If you look on the market you will find there are some similar models offered, any type with quality will be using AXE style blades that are double sided, this gives you the maximum cutting power and capablility while also offering a longer life expectancy for the blades.

What is the advantage of the DIRECT DRIVE SYSTEM ? 
The absolute cheapest way possible to build a cutter is using a right angle gear box, this is simply going to be the weakest point on any cutter. Using a direct drive 3” Output shaft drive system offers you right at 3X – yes – 3 times the strength of the 1” output shaft of the gear box style, and is the very first sign that the company producing the product is making a TOP QUALITY product and not an inferior market place product..
